How to Quantum Leap to Your First $100K FAST
There’s a line most coaches stand in for three, four, even five years. It’s the line to your first $100K. About 80% of coaches never get to the front of it. The good news is you can skip it entirely, not by hacking the work, but by collapsing the time it takes to do it.
Zander Fryer has made over $20 million in the coaching industry and helped over 1,500 coaches build full-time businesses. 85% of the coaches he works with break six figures within 12 months. Here are the three shifts that let you quantum leap to your first $100K fast.
Shift 1: Stop asking self-preserving questions
Self-preservation and self-actualization are mutually exclusive. You can’t keep yourself safe and become the version of you that changes lives at the same time.
At a mastermind, Adam Toren, the founder of Entrepreneur Magazine, told Zander he could never work with starting coaches because they’re too selfish. Fighting words for someone who sees coaches as servant leaders, but there’s truth in it. Most starting coaches aren’t making $10K or $20K a month because they’re more focused on themselves than on the people who need them.
Think about the questions a broke coach asks:
- What if I can’t do this?
- What if I’m not good enough?
- What if people won’t pay me?
- What if I don’t get results?
Every one of those is a self-preserving question. They exist to keep you safe and comfortable, and they have nothing to do with the person who actually needs your help. The better questions: What if I am good enough? What if I’ve already been ready for the last five years and the only thing stopping me was my own fear?
Shift 2: The money shift
Higher-paying clients always get better results than lower-paying clients. People who pay, pay attention.
Aaron had been in health and fitness coaching for 11 years, charging about $300 a month, working 50 hours a week, making less than $2,500 a month, and ready to quit. The first move wasn’t a new offer or funnel. They took her $300 pricing and turned it into a $3,000 program. In the next 30 days she made five times her income. And the $3,000 clients got better results than the $300 ones, because when someone pays 10 times more, they show up 10 times stronger.
The math is the whole point. To hit $100K, around $10K a month, you have two options:
- Option one: 25 clients at $100 an hour. That’s 25 hours of coaching a week plus about 50 hours of admin. You’d drown by client number 10.
- Option two: 3 clients at $3,500. That’s three hours of coaching plus 10 to 15 hours of work total for a six-figure business.
Same revenue, one-tenth the operational nightmare. If you ever doubt people would pay that, ask yourself: how much would someone have to pay you to unlearn everything you know as a coach? Probably a fortune. So it’s not a stretch that someone would pay $3,000 to $8,000 for that wisdom, even from a brand new coach.
Shift 3: Collapse the hesitation
The quantum leap isn’t skipping the work, it’s collapsing the hesitation between knowing what to do and actually doing it. That gap is where most coaches lose years.
Zander once complained to his mentor Craig Ballantyne about an influencer making millions selling bad coaching. Craig’s response: “Do you think you’re a better coach than he is? Then you have a moral obligation to become a better marketer and salesperson than him, so the people who need a real coach work with you and not him.” That hit hard. Becoming a better coach is easy and comfortable. Becoming a better marketer and salesperson is the uncomfortable work, and it’s exactly the work that needs doing.
Here’s the rule Craig taught: if you accept that life is going to challenge you and that the things you’re scared of are exactly the things you need to do, life gets simpler. You stop fighting the lessons. Keep choosing easy and life gets harder, because the lessons keep showing up bigger until you finally listen.
So take out a piece of paper and write down the one thing you’ve been avoiding for the last 30 days. The conversation, the price raise, the mentor you haven’t hired. Do it today. That’s how you skip the line.
Frequently asked questions
How do you reach your first $100K as a coach fast?
Three shifts. Stop asking self-preserving questions and focus on the people who need you. Make the money shift to high-ticket pricing so the math actually works. And collapse the hesitation between knowing what to do and doing it. None of it is a hack, it’s just doing the work without the years of delay.
Why do higher-paying clients get better results?
Because people who pay, pay attention. When a client pays 10 times more, they show up 10 times stronger and treat the work like their results depend on it, because they do. Cheap pricing attracts people who don’t commit and don’t follow through.
Why does high-ticket pricing make six figures easier?
The math. Three clients at $3,500 gets you to $10K a month with about 10 to 15 hours of work a week. Hitting the same number at $100 an hour would take 25 clients and a workload you physically couldn’t deliver. High ticket is the only version that scales.
